HOUSTON — San Jacinto College (SJC) is helping Sharla Hammond to achieve her dream of becoming a successful artist.
The North Shore High School graduate has excelled as an art student at SJC’s North campus and recently learned she has qualified to attend Rutgers University-Mason Gross School of Arts. Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, is one of the oldest and most prestigious colleges in the nation and is known for maintaining high standards in academics and fine arts.

San Jacinto College South to reflect upon 10 years of dance
HOUSTON – San Jacinto College (SJC) South will celebrate 10 years of dance with "Reflections: Looking Back" May 6-7.
The dance concert will begin each evening at 7:30 p.m. at the Marie Spence Flickinger Fine Arts Center. It will include a mix of new and reconstructed pieces set to music by Sigur Ros, Tchaikovsky, The Album Leaf, Yann Tiersen, Suni Paz, Jimi Hendrix, and others.

SJC soccer hosts Kicks for Hunger and FUTBOL FIESTA
HOUSTON–The San Jacinto College (SJC) men’s soccer team will host the Houston Intercollegiate FUTBOL FIESTA and Kicks for Hunger Clinic on Feb. 20 at the South campus.
Players, ages 6-18, may participate in the clinic from 4 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. by bringing two canned food items or nonperishable goods, which will be donated to a local food pantry. The St. Thomas University soccer team will play against the Houston Leones PDL at 6 p.m., followed by Houston Baptist University vs. SJC at 8 p.m.

Matthew Shaw, 2, and his brother, Ethan, 4, made the most of their time by digging through the snow crystals and chasing one another around with snowballs.
